Bo’s Flex Your Brain Facts: Monday Moanin’ Edition

The Oompa Loompas in "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" were originally called Whipple Scrumpets.  Roald Dahl changed their name at the last minute. Huh? "Whipple...Scrumpet...whoopity-doo, this name blows, that's what we'll sing to youuuuu."

A 24-year-old guy in India recently quit his job as a research assistant at a hospital to train full time and break the record for most selfies taken in an hour.  The official record is 1,449, and he claims his personal best is 1,700.

Emergency dispatchers came in first, and nurse anesthetists came in second on a list of the most stressful jobs. Telephone operators came in third, I think because that includes customer service reps, since everyone but me treats 'em like poop.

Tim Burton's first choice to play Beetlejuice was Sammy Davis Jr., not Michael Keaton. I'm too young to know anything about Sammy Davis Jr., but James Rabe (aka Old Man River) says he woulda been great!  James was also appalled that I didn't know any SDjr, so now we're listening to it in the studio and he gave me a CD to listen to. ((sigh)) James does love his old music.
