Most of southeastern Minnesota is included in a winter weather advisory that will be in effect from 4 AM through 6 PM on Thursday. The National Weather Service says an approaching storm system could drop 2 to 4 inches of snow on the region by Thursday afternoon. Gusty winds are also expected to cause problems with blowing and drifting snow, especially in open areas.  The snow will be followed by another blast of arctic air, which should push the mercury down to around 10-below zero Friday morning.
