6 Things Minnesotans Do on the First Warm Day of the Season

No less than three station employees were caught yesterday wearing shorts and/or flip-flops at work. At least one said he won’t got back to long pants now that he’s made “the switch” for the season. We’ll see if that holds true when we get that inevitable April snowstorm!

Is the line to get your car washed ever longer than that first nice day? Especially if there has been a prolonged cold spell before it? Lines in car washes all over town were long, long, long yesterday as people took advantage of the beautiful weather...

March in Minnesota can mean many things. Most often, it means there’s still a storm on the horizon. How many of you checked out the forecast yesterday to see how long the warmth is expected to last? And who checked again today to make sure the forecast hadn’t changed?

I got an announcement from Dunn Brothers Coffee with information on their new spring drinks. And it was packed with iced coffee options. After all, who wants to drink hot coffee when the weather is this gosh-darn warm?

Fortunately, we didn’t have to use them too often this winter! Some of you positive thinkers out there probably spent the evening opening up the storage space for the snow blower. Maybe you even started up the lawnmower to make sure it’s still working? Or perhaps you tucked the snowmobiles into the back of the garage for the season.
