St Paul Park, MN (KROC AM News) - Yet another pedestrian has been killed in the Twin Cities, the 5th one in just over one week.

The Minnesota State Patrol reports the latest incident happened in St. Paul Park around 4:00 AM Friday.

The report says 49-year-old Phillip Cain of Roseville was walking on a street when he was struck by a vehicle driven by 29-year-old Michael Ramos of St. Paul Park. He turned around and returned to where the victim was hit but another vehicle came by and apparently ran over Cain. That driver did not stop but was later located and arrested. She was identified as 47-year-old Gina Marrone of St. Paul Park. The State Patrol report says at this point, it’s unknown if Cain or Marrone had alcohol in their systems.

In the earlier incidents, two pedestrians were killed Jan. 4th in Roseville, a pedestrian was killed the next day in St. Paul and the fourth victim was killed in Inver Grove Heights Jan 5th.

Meanwhile, drugs were believed to be involved in a deadly wreck in Inver Grove Heights Friday night.

The State Patrol says a car driven by 25-year-old Anwar Ibrahim Yahia Abdiwahed of Minneapolis “allegedly” stopped in the right-hand lane of Highway 62 around 9:00 PM for some reason and it was rear-ended by another vehicle. A passenger in the first car - 29-year-old Ahmed Ibrahim Ahmed of Minneapolis - suffered fatal injuries. Abdiwahed and another passenger were treated for non-life threatening injuries. The other driver was identified as 37-year-old Jamey Scott Ralph Strand of Brooklyn Center. He suffered non-life threatening injuries.
