Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - Rochester police say the man arrested for an assault on a skateboarder on Sunday was released from the Steele County Jail on Saturday.

27-year-old Cody Haakenson is accused of an attack on a 26-year-old man while the victim was riding on a skateboard near the Casey’s General Store along 18th Avenue Northwest around 11 AM Sunday morning. The victim was knocked unconscious and was transported to St. Mary’s hospital to be treated for a non-life-threatening head injury.

Police Captain John Sherwin says Haakenson was arrested around 4 p.m. after he was spotted by officers and led them on a brief foot chase.
