Hager City, WI (KROC AM News) - The search for a missing young woman from western Wisconsin is over.

A minivan was found submerged in a Mississippi River backwater channel near Hager City around 2 p.m. Wednesday and the body of 23 year old Marya ( MAR ee uh) Christiansen was found in the vehicle.

She was last seen around 2 a.m. Saturday when she left a friend's home in Red Wing. She was heading to her home in Hager City when her vehicle left Highway 63 near a boat landing near what’s called the Back Channel bridge and ended up in the water. She was just minutes from her home. Christiansen was the mother of two young boys.

Her family and friends updated a Facebook site that was set up after Christiansen’s disappearance and it reads:

“ It is with heavy hearts that we share with you that Marya's van was pulled from the Mississippi river this evening and it is with great sadness that Marya's family says goodbye to their loved one. Marya's family would like to thank everyone for all of their efforts in finding Marya and support that you have shown them. “
