Rochester, MN (KROC AM News)  - A community notification meeting has been scheduled for Tuesday evening that will provide the public with information concerning a convicted rapist who is planning to move to Rock Dell Township near Byron in September.

The meeting will be held at the East St. Olaf Lutheran Church at 6200 County Road 3 Southwest, one mile north of Rock Dell. The meeting will begin at 7 p.m.

68 year old Benjamin Gissendanner has already been provisionally discharged from the Minnesota Sex Offender Program in St Peter. Gissendanner was committed to the program as a sexually dangerous person after serving his prison sentence for raping a woman after he broke into her St. Paul home in the early 1980s. He was also convicted of sexually assaulting a woman in New York in 1970.

Gissendanner is only the fourth offender to ever be released from the program, which was recently declared unconstitutional by a judge.
