Byron, MN (KROC AM News) -  A young Byron boy may have been scared but he kept his cool and was able to help authorities capture two would-be burglars Wednesday.

Olmsted County Sheriff Department Captain Scott Behrns says the 11 year old boy was home alone when he saw two men forcing open a window in his home in the 500 block of 2nd Avenue SW around noon.  The boy ran to an upstairs room to hide and called his mother.  She told him to call 911 and within minutes a deputy was there.

Behrns suspects the two men thought no one was home and fled after they spotted the boy. A short while later, a police dog tracked the two to a shed on the neighboring property.

Arrested were 47 year old Phillip Bartlett of Hayfield and 47 year old Todd Bauer of Byron. They are expected to make their first court appearance tomorrow.
