Albert Lea, MN (KROC AM News) -  A Rochester woman has been charged in last week’s reported home invasion in Albert Lea.

Police were contacted around 9 p.m. last Thursday and told a man and woman had entered a home and left with two children. Police say the children were involved in a custody dispute between their father who lives at the Albert Lea home and 33 year old Benita Crum. She has been charged with burglary and two assault counts.

Crum has told police the father of their two children took them from their Rochester school last Wednesday and went to his Albert Lea home, where he lives with his girlfriend and her two daughters. She and her brother Jessie Crum went there the next day to get the children.

The father of the children has told police Jessie entered the home and held a gun to his abdomen. He says Benita then came in and left with the children. His girlfriend’s daughters told police Benita Crum also assaulted them before she left. Both Crums were later apprehended in Rochester.

As of Wednesday, Jessie Crum had not been charged in the case.
