Preston, MN (KROC AM News) - The Fillmore County Sheriff has released more information about a fatal shooting near Chatfield.

Deputies were called to a home along County Road 101 about 3 miles west of Chatfield (32573 Ninebark Road) last Wednesday evening to check a report of an unresponsive male in need of medical assistance.

Sheriff John DeGeorge reported Monday morning the man was identified as 49-year-old Gregory Scott Davis.

The sheriff says the Southern Minnesota Regional Medical Examiner’s Office has ruled Davis “died of homicide due to multiple gunshot wounds.”

The sheriff added, “No persons have been arrested related to this incident and investigators believe that there is no danger to the public.” He says the investigation “is ongoing” and his department is being assisted by the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension.
