Chatfield won the Class A Minnesota state wrestling tournament last night, beating top seeded Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City 38-22. The third seeded Gophers started the day with a 40-18 victory over Pierz, then took care of number two seed Frazee 38-19

In Class 2A, Kasson-Mantorville opened with a 32-25 win over Totino-Grace, but lost to top seed Simley 40-19. Simley went on to win the 2A crown. K-M lost to Foley in the third place match 38-20.

Apple Valley dominated the 3A tournament, beating Prior Lake 56-9 for the title. Earlier they'd cruised past Maple Grove 64-4, then Hastings 65-3.

The individual championships begin today, ending on Saturday at the Excel Energy Center.
