Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - The 10th annual Help Make Rochester A Litter Bit Better! event started Saturday with hundreds of people of all ages volunteering their time to pick up trash around Rochester.

During the nine years of the event, volunteers collected more than 112 tons of litter.

At last check, 280 groups had signed up, 50 more than last year and the highest number in the history of the event. The number of volunteers had grown to 3200.

Groups and/or individuals can still sign up and pick their location and date. Trash and recycling bags are provided. The event runs through April 30.
