What should be done with the old armory on North Broadway that is currently occupied by the Rochester Senior Center?

The organization will vacate the castle-like building next year after its new center opens. The building is owned by the city and Council President Randy Staver wants to discuss its future during Wednesday’s committee meeting.

Staver says there have already been inquiries from various groups about that building and Fire Station 2, which is located at Silver Lake. That building will also be vacated after the new fire station near Century High School opens. Staver wants to know if the Council would consider adopting a process that would be used in selecting a possible future tenant for any city property.

He also doesn’t feel the city should have to subsidize any tenants.
