Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - The Olmsted County Parks Department has scheduled a community meeting Tuesday evening to kick-off a master planning process for the county’s park system.

The public is invited to attend the session from 5 until 6:30 p.m. at Chester Woods Park.

Officials are also urging the community to complete an online questionnaire by April 26th to help the county develop its first park system master plan. The document will serve as a long-term vision for the system that will help guide future improvements and will include individual master plans for Oxbow, Chester Woods, and Root River Parks.

It’s hoped the master plans will assist the county as it seeks a regional designation from the Greater Minnesota Regional Parks and Trails Commission.
