Kong: Skull Island has been king of the box office since it opened. But do you like remakes?

A couple weeks back, I rented that new The Magnificent Seven, with Denzel Washington and Chris Pratt. I love Westerns, and I'm a huge fan of the original The Magnificent Seven. I liked it. I thought it was a pretty good movie. A Pretty good Western. It wasn't the original, though. That may have been the point. Maybe the movie was trying to be different from the original. A fresh take. I still like the original.

There's a couple other remakes coming.

Word is, Disney is looking for Jared Leto to work that Suicide Squad magic on a Tron remake. Or would that be a reboot? Maybe a comeback?

There's a rumor about a remake of The Matrix. It's only been eighteen years since the first one came out. I didn't care for the sequels, though, did you? The rumor goes that the remake is going to be without Keanu Reeves. It might star Michael B. Jordan from Creed and Fantastic Four.

What do you think of remakes and reboots?

Buzzfeed asked readers to vote on movie remakes. Some of the movies are classics. To Kill A Mockingbird. The Percy Jackson film series. Harry Potter as a television series. Or, 1985's The Breakfast Club. About troubled white, suburban kids. If that were remade today, do you think one or more of the characters should be black, Asian, or gay? That would be a whole new, fresh take on the movie.
