Dodge Center, MN (KROC-AM News) - The Dodge County Sheriff’s Department is looking for a gunman who attempted to rob the Subway restaurant in Dodge Center last night.

Sheriff Scott Rose says deputies were sent to the sandwich shop shortly before 8:20 p.m. and were told by two employees that a man in dark clothing and armed with a handgun had threatened them with the gun while ordering the workers to open the safe inside the business.  Sheriff Rose says the employees stated the gunman told one of them he would shoot the other if they did not comply with his demand. While he was counting down from 10, two male customers entered the shop and the robber fled on foot empty-handed.

The sheriff says a K-9 officer was able to track the suspects for several blocks to an area where it’s believed he got into a vehicle.

The suspect was described as possibly Asian with a small build, wearing dark pants, a dark hoodie, and dark tennis shoes with white soles. He left behind a gray and black Adidas bag that smelled of cologne, which has been sent to the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension lab to be processed for evidence.

Anyone with information that could assist in the investigation is asked to contact the Dodge County Sheriff’s Department.
