Downtown Rochester Housing Project Gets Preliminary Approval

Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A preliminary plan for another downtown Rochester housing project was approved Monday night by the City Council.

The project is called Residence at Discovery Square and is about two blocks north of Soldiers Field Park, between Third and Fourth Avenues and Fifth and Sixth Streets Southwest.

The six-story building would include 150 residential units. It also proposes 20,000 square feet of commercial space and underground parking.

The proposed plan will have to come back for a final vote before work can begin
