Preston, MN (KROC-AM News) - A traffic incident involving a cement truck created a huge mess on Highway 52 in Fillmore County Friday morning.

Fillmore County Sheriff Tom Kaase a semi truck loaded with dry powder cement lost its load in the southbound lane of the highway spanning the distance of over a quarter mile in an area south of Preston.

The Sheriff’s Department and Preston Police were alerted to the situation shortly after 10 AM and responded by slowing down traffic in both directions until the dangerous situation could be resolved. Sheriff Kaase says the powder created “white-out” conditions until a crew from the Minnesota Department of Transportation brought in a large compressor and blew the cement off the roadway.

It took about two and half hours to deal with the mess.
