Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) -  A Rochester man who had been on the run the last few weeks has been apprehended - after a face-to-face run-in with a 93-year-old woman.

A warrant was issued for 31-year-old Michael Cozik after he missed a court hearing for a drug case. He was nearly caught last week after his girlfriend called to report he had just assaulted her.

The woman says the attack took place at her apartment when she tried to end their relationship. The woman told police Cozik had choked her 3 or 4 times and assaulted over a period of a few hours.  Cozik was long-gone when officers arrived.

He was spotted in the Slattery Park neighborhood Wednesday.

While fleeing officers on foot, Cozik tried to force his way into a home in the 800 block of 11th Ave SE. But the 93-year-old woman inside told him to “get the hell out of here” and he did.
