Additional Information

The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Southeast Minnesota will offer this unique learning program for people living with mental illness who seek to achieve and maintain wellness and recovery. Peer-to-Peer education is about hope; providing encouragement, insight and self-help skills that can help people living with mental illness lead full and productive lives. Peer-to-Peer is led by two trained “mentors” who have worked to attain and maintain recovery and are able to teach coping skills to others. Classes involve a combination of lectures, interactive exercises and structured group discussions. Topics covered include the biological basis of mental illness and addictions, personal and interpersonal awareness, coping skills, spirituality and basic self-care.

The Peer-to-Peer course meets weekly on Wednesday for 10 weeks and will start March 5, from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Pre-registration is required; call NAMI Southeast Minnesota at 507-287-1692 or email devans@namisemn.org.
