Clarks Grove, MN (KROC AM News) - An Austin woman was killed in a single vehicle traffic wreck early Thursday in Clarks Grove, the Freeborn County town near Albert Lea that was hit by a tornado earlier this week.

The Minnesota State Patrol says 37-year-old Ileana Babastro was driving on Interstate 35 around 3:45 a.m. when she lost control and the vehicle rolled in the median. The vehicle eventually came to a stop on the northbound exit ramp to Highway 251.

The State Patrol says she was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected. She died at the scene.

There were two passengers in the vehicle, 31-year-old Sashy Martinez of Rochester and 41-year-old Reinaldo Quesada of Albert Lea. The State Patrol says both suffered non-life threatening injuries.

The State Patrol report indicates the roadway was covered by snow and/or ice but it’s not known if that played a role in the deadly wreck.
