The State Fire Marshall's Office is reminding Minnesotans that this is Fire Prevention Week.  This is the time of year to make sure your smoke alarms are working, and to test them monthly.  When you put fresh batteries in your smoke detectors, don't forget to add new batteries to your carbon monoxide detectors, too.

Four people were killed in the state last year inside homes without working smoke alarms.
