St. Paul, MN (KROC-AM News) - Flu activity in Minnesota remains relatively mild. The latest weekly update on influenza activity by the Minnesota Department of Health continues to classify the overall activity as local.

The department received only four reports of probable outbreaks in schools over the past week, but there were no outbreaks reported in long-term care facilities. The number of flu-related hospitalization statewide remains extremely low for this time of the year with only four reported since last week.

The health department report also shows the percentage of people seeking treatment at medical clinics who present flu-like symptoms was still below a half point, and only about 1.5-percent of the specimens submitted for testing came back positive for the influenza virus.
