The Rochester School Board has unanimously approved the sale of the Gage East property to a group with plans to build a housing project aimed at addressing the needs of homeless youth and families with children.

Center City Housing has agreed to pay $1.3 million dollars for Gage East and will also enter into a 5 year lease with the school district that will allow it to continue using the existing gymnasium on the property for a gymnastics program.

Center City Housing still has to win the City Council's approval of a zoning change request to allow for the development of the housing project.
