Girl Has Surgery After Being Attacked in Minnesota Lake
The 11 year old girl was bitten after jumping into the lake for a swim.
If you already have a phobia of deep water, I highly suggest NOT looking at this horrifying photo.
It's unknown whether it was a fish or an otter that attacked the girl in Island Lake in Duluth.
According to Brainerd Dispatch's interview with the family, "The doctors felt very confident it was a fish by how razor-sharp all the cuts were. Some were down to the bone, like it was done by the sharpest knife you could use."
Island Lake is home to large muskies and northern pike. A muskie 55 inches long was caught by an angler on Island Lake last year.
It could have been an otter though, and it wouldn't be the first time an attack like this has happened. According to the Star Tribune, an Anoka woman was bitten 25 times by an otter while training for a triathlon in the same lake.
