Guess Who is Replacing Burton Cummings at Riverside Finale?

Rochester, MN  (KROC AM News) - The star of this year’s grand finale of Rochester’s Down by the Riverside Free Summer Concert Series has pulled out and will be replaced by a Monkee.  

Riverside Concerts, the promoter of the popular summer concert series, says Burton Cummings canceled his scheduled Aug. 13 gig “due to a personal scheduling conflict.”

Riverside Concerts' General manager Steven Schmidt says, "We apologize to all our Burton Cummings fans for any inconvenience or disappointment this cancellation has caused.”

Schmidt says he is “thrilled” to replace Cummings with Micky Dolenz of The Monkees. Schmidt says the Beatles tribute band The Fab Four will also perform at the Aug. 13th concert at the Mayo Civic Center lawn.

If you are a diehard Cummings fan, take note. His current schedule has him booked at the Scott County Fair in Jordan, MN on Aug. 27th. Cummings was the frontman for The Guess Who during their prime years.
