Kenyon, MN (KROC AM News) - Authorities say a 4-year-old girl who disappeared Tuesday from her rural home in the Kenyon area was located early Wednesday and is back with her family.

The Minnesota BCA says Sawyer Hanson was located in a field near her home around 1:30 Wednesday morning.

The young girl was last seen around 6:30 p.m Tuesday in the yard of her home where she had been playing with her brother and father. Her family told authorities she often chases cats into the cornfield that surrounds their home - and that’s what she did last night. The girl’s mother says Sawyer took a nap at one point.  She also said Sawyer was “mad because the cat she was chasing got away. “

The Rice County Sheriff's Department has thanked the many volunteers and public safety agencies that assisted in the search for the girl.
