The Rochester Planning and Zoning Commission held a public hearing Wednesday evening on a major development proposal for a property in downtown Rochester, but held off on voting on the plans in hopes of gathering some additional information.

The Chafoulias family is seeking city approval to construct a 23 story tower along Broadway across from Michaels Restaurant that would include a hotel and apartments, along with retail and office space. The proposed Broadway at Center development would feature underground parking and would be adjacent to a planned city parking ramp to the east of the site. It would include a connection to the city’s skyway system.

The commission is expected to bring the plan back for a vote next month.
