Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A former Kasson police officer charged with sexually abusing young children was in court Monday and for a second time, a request to modify his bail was denied.

Charges have been filed against 51-year-old Julio Baez in Dodge and Olmsted counties, alleging the abuse covered a period of several years.

According to the criminal complaint, the alleged abuse took place in Byron between 2006 and 2011 and involved two victims. The Dodge County case accuses Baez of sexually abusing three juveniles between 1998 and 2006 while he lived in Dodge Center.

He was also arraigned Monday on the Dodge County charges and conditional bail was set at $500,000 - the same as the Olmsted case.

Evidentiary hearings in both cases have been scheduled to be held Nov 1st in Olmsted County court.
