Motorist traveling on Highway 52 in Harmony, Preston and Rochester could see some traffic delays this summer.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation has announced that Highway 52 will get resurfaced from Preston to Harmony, about 7 miles, starting on May 7th. The delays should be short, but there will be a flagger there to help direct traffic.

There will be short lane closures as they work on resurfacing the project. It should be completed by late June. As always, when there are potential traffic delays, you should plan for extra time on any commute.

The resurfacing will start at Highway 16 south of Preston and finish up at Fillmore County Road 22 just north of Harmony. It should make for a much smoother ride.

Highway 52 from Interstate 90 to Highway 63 in Rochester is also getting resurfaced. That project will start July 9th and the estimated end date is late Fall of 2018. There will be long-term lane closures with some short-term ramp detours, so expect delays during peak travel times.
