Brr. With temperatures below freezing this morning for many Minnesotans, I for one wouldn't blame you for thinking about a warm-weather getaway. You are in luck, if you like scavenger hunts, and free airline tickets to Belize, as Twin Cities-based Sun Country Airlines has launched this morning their "Freeze to Belize" contest.

Sun Country last month announced that it will offer nonstop service to Belize from MSP beginning Dec. 22 and running through April 20. To promote the new nonstop service to Belize, Sun Country and the Belize Tourism Board have hidden five Belizean toucan statues made of foam core in public places in Minneapolis and St. Paul. If you find one of the toucans you win tickets.

The scavenger hunt officially started at 7 a.m. today, after the first overnight freeze was recorded at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport. If you don't find a toucan, no worries the airline has said that there will be more ticket giveaways on their Facebook page later this year.
