I was born and raised in Minnesota, so I thought for sure I would have all these attractions checked off my list. Nope, I was wrong. How many of Minnesota's top tourist attractions have you been to?

The list was put together by Planetware.com.

  • 1

Superior National Forest & Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness

Right on the US/Canada border sits Superior National Forest. It covers more than 3 million acres, and almost 700 square miles of those acres are water. A great place for hiking, fishing, snowmobiling and many other outdoor activities.

I can't say that I've been that far north. Have you?

  • 2

    North Shore Drive

One of the most gorgeous drives! It follows the north shore of Lake Superior from Duluth to Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada. Along this route are many attractions, including Split Rock Lighthouse State Park, waterfalls, and great views of Lake Superior.

  • 3

    Cathedral of St Paul

Just over an hour away from Rochester, and I have yet to be inside of this magnificent building

  • 4

    Voyageurs National Park

According to Planetware.com, "this mainly backcountry park, accessed primarily by water or air, is a wonderful place for canoeing, boating, fishing, and other outdoor pursuits. The park is remote and offers great opportunities to see wildlife, such as bears, moose, loons, and much more."

  • 5

    The International Wolf Center

The International Wolf Center is in Ely. Visitors learn about the natural history of wolves by observing the resident wolf pack.

  • 6

    Mall of America

When it opened in 1992 it was one of the largest malls in the United States.

  • 7

    Split Rock Lighthouse State Park

Taking two spots on the list, because it's just that amazing - Split Rock Lighthouse just 20 miles from Two Harbors.

  • 8

    Clemens Gardens in St Cloud

The Munsinger Gardens feature approximately 80,000 annual plants within a setting of trees, benches, swings, fountains and ponds.

  • 9

    The Aerial Lift Bridge

Another Duluth area attraction is the Aerial Lift Bridge. The bridge is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
