Just like that, the summer is off and running! Memorial Day is in the rear view mirror, the kids are out of school and I'm itching at my first mosquito bite of the season. Up next? The Insane Inflatable 5K this weekend. Have you tried it yet? I ran the obstacles with my kids two years ago and had a great time. I haven't decided if I'm going to do it again or not, but either way, I've got another job to do first.

Let me explain.

On Memorial Day weekend, I ran in the Med City Marathon as part of a relay team. We had a great time, however I made a big mistake. You see, usually when I run I'm with a group of gals and we're talking for most all of the run. (We don't call ourselves the Chatty Chicks for nothin'!) The problem is running a leg of the relay means I was running alone and THAT means I should have brought a playlist to push me along. It's so much easier to run while listening to music, because a great tune can really help crank it up! Sadly, I had forgotten this very important fact. It's time to make an Insane Inflatable/Running playlist!

If you're going to take part in the Insane Inflatable 5K, a local 5K race or just a walk around the block; you're going to need a great playlist, too. Let's work on it together! Here are a few of my favorites:

  • Viva La Vida by Coldplay
  • Body Movin', Shake Your Rump and So What'cha Want by Beastie Boys
  • Can't Stop the Feeling by Justin Timberlake
  • My Name Is Prince by Prince
  • Beautiful Day by U2
  • White Knuckles by OK Go
  • Chelsea Dager by Fratellis
  • Daft Punk Is Playing At My House and Give It Up by LCD Soundsystem
  • Hell Yes, Sexx Laws and E-Pro by Beck
  • Feel Good Inc. by Gorillaz
