There is an event coming to the cities (area), and when I first saw the pictures and videos I thought it looked awesome. Then I saw the price! Is $35 too much for an event like this? I'm totally ok with donating that kind of money to a charity that I deeply care for, but you don't know what you're donating to before paying for tickets. Not that I'm shunning any charities, or saying any of them are less important. But, this event is "a for-profit company that loves working with local charities and causes." That's wonderful, BUT what charity and how much is going to them? Not to mention, that $35 is if you buy your tickets now. If you wait, you could pay as much as $50.

On a lighter note, I DO think this event sounds awesome. Sorry for sounding off like a broke old lady. Here are the details of the event:

What is Light Fest? It's an event meant to bring friends and family together and "light up life by sharing personal wishes, dreams, and goals. At the perfect moment, everyone ignites their personalized sky lanterns with Tiki torches and lets them take flight. It creates a surreal ambiance, where time slows down as your single flame rises with thousands of others." The Light Fest is actually taking place in New Richmond, WI, which is close to a 2-hour drive from Rochester.

What do you think?
