ROCK THE RED RED KETTLE SATURDAY & JAMES NEEDS YOUR HELP!!

November 19th, all the Salvation Army Red Kettles will be out and ready for you to ring...and James Rabe kicks off the season by broadcasting from the top of the Plummer Building as he rings Rochester's Largest Salvation Army bell! But he needs your help!

James Needs Your Help Ringing Bells!

"Hi, I'm James Rabe and I need your help ringing bells! While I'm up in the Plummer Building, the Salvation Army's designated the Wal-Mart North Red Kettle as the NEW Y-105FM's red kettle, so please, help me out. I need you to ring for an hour or two between Noon and 5pm. If you have free time, please, grab a friend and ring for Salvation Army!

To ring for James, just send him an email at: james.rabe@townsquaremedia.com

This is new and uncharted territory, no one's ever run Salvation Army Bells from on top of the Plummer Building. What'll happen? Listen to the NEW Y-105FM from 10-2 as James braves the wind and cold and reminds everyone to give generously.

James has planned several fun events while he's up there. The Great Plummer Penny Plunge (will it split the Yule Log?), the Hot Cocoa Downspout (will he make it in the Limited Edition Y-105FM gold plated travel mug on the sidewalk?), and everyone's favorite, the The Phlebotomist Sharps Toss (suspended from the giant red bucked, if you miss the target, you have to make a donation)!

Please help us Rock the Red Kettles with the biggest one day donation they've ever received...and if you have time, please ring bells! (you could even ring with the NEW Y-105FM)!

I made a video to go along with it so you could a sneak-peak inside the very top of the Plummer Building!  How to volunteer after the video!

Volunteering is easy and fun...and it really makes a difference. When a kettle has someone ringing, it makes hundreds more dollars than an un-staffed kettle

All the money stays here to help with local Salvation Army programs...

  • Meal Programs and Food Shelves
  • Rent Assistance
  • Utility Assistance
  • Employment Assistance
  • Clothing and Household Items
  • Transportation Assistance
  • Medical Assistance
  • Seasonal Services
  • Veteran’s Assistance
  • Pathway of Hope for Families

HOW DO I VOLUNTEER?

It is SO easy. See that picture there to the left? Click it. Then on the left side of the Salvation Army page, just tell 'em what date, what city, and where you'd like to ring.

Simple. In, out, no mussin' about.

Who do you ring with? You can do it on your own, but it's way more fun with family or friends. A lot of people volunteer with people at work, and get to know each other better. Bosses...you'll find it improves moral, since everyone's working together to help people in our community. And heck, you get to know your employees better, too.

What about music? Great! Christmas music on a boom-box, singing, a guitar, a harmonica...bring 'em and remember, little kids are super sweet and really get people to donate.

No pets tho, please.
