Large Barn Fire Near Boy Scout Reservation
Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - Rochester firefighters were busy Wednesday afternoon dealing with a fire in a large barn at Schoenfelder farms in rural southeast Rochester.
Reports indicate the response to the blaze was aimed at preventing it from spreading to nearby structures on property at 4340 30th Avenue Southeast and the barn was a total loss. The expansive cattle operation is located south of Highway 52 near the Gamehaven Scout Reservation.
The National Weather Service says the plume of smoke from the blaze was large enough to be detected by weather radar.
The cause of the fire has not been determined.
