A neighborhood meeting briefing property owners confirmed that there's a preliminary plan in the works by the Stencil Group. According to Bob Elwood, owner of Med City Mobility who was among those in attendance at the meeting, it would be a four-story, 144 unit rental apartment with underground and above-ground parking.

The property would be built on the south side of Highway 14 East on Eastgate Drive Southeast. The spot currently occupied by the Wicked Moose.

A zoning change would have to be approved by the City Council and according to the Manager of the Wicked Moose, Scott Schneider it's all preliminary at this point. He said the group still has to get the proper funding in place and if and when that happens, it could happen next spring.

Long time residents may remember that spot as the drive-in theater before the late Tom Murphy bought the property in the early 80's and built McMurphy's and Aquarius before he sold the property and it became the Wicked Moose.
