Latest Mayo Clinic Project to Be Unveiled Thursday
Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - Details about a new Mayo Clinic building are scheduled to be released to the public for the first time Thursday.
Mayo contracted with Mortenson Construction to develop the DMC Discovery Square district. Mortenson plans to begin work this year on the first building located in the district. A presentation of the project will be given Thursday to the DMC Corporation Board.
The first building is expected to be located on the south side of 4th St SW, between 2nd and 3rd avenues. Mayo is expected to lease about a third of the 80,000 square foot building.
The site is currently a Mayo employee parking lot.
Mayo said earlier there were plans to add more than 2 million square feet to its downtown campus as research, commercial and product development space over the next 20 years.
