On Friday May 2 at 9:00 P.M. barricades and signs will be set up closing 55th St. N.W to both east and westbound traffic, at the bridge over Highway 52, for the weekend.

By 10:00 P.M. Friday, north and southbound Highway 52 lanes will also be closed for the weekend. These closures are necessary for the demolition of the southern portion of the Highway 52 bridge that is being widened as part of the ongoing reconstruction project.

Traffic on 55th St. will be detoured by use of both east and west Frontage Roads and 41st St. N.W., during the demolition work. Highway 52 traffic will be detoured in both directions using the exit and entrance ramps. No left hand turns will be allowed in either direction from the ramps onto the 55th St. Bridge. The traffic signals on the ramps will be locked on green to keep traffic moving.

Work on the bridge will continue until completion of the demolition. All traffic movements will be reopened no later than 6:00 A.M. Monday May 5.

Following the work, barricades will be placed closing the inside lanes of both north and southbound Highway 52 for construction of a new bridge pier.
