An approaching winter storm is expected to begin impacting the state by Sunday evening.

will affect much of Minnesota with the heaviest snowfall expected in the central part of the state where several inches could fall Monday and Tuesday.

For now, it appears the snow will begin in the Rochester Monday and continue into Tuesday with possible totals of 3 - 6 inches.

Frigid weather will move in after the storm. Temperatures are expected to drop below freezing late Sunday and remain there for several days.

High temps in this part of the state next week are expected to be only in the 20’s and lows between 10 and 15.  Normally, high temps this time of the year are in the upper 40’s and lows around 30.
