Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A man and woman were hit by a car Wednesday evening while walking in the pedestrian walkway in front of St. Mary’s Hospital.

Police say the man, 77-year-old John Ronneberg, suffered a serious head injury as a result of the collision. He was listed in critical condition Thursday morning. The woman, 48-year-old Cynthia Zimmerman, suffered fractures to an arm and to her pelvis. She was listed in good condition.  

Police say the two are from Montana.

They were hit around 7 p.m. when the driver of the vehicle ran a red light.  

The 18-year-old who was driving the vehicle is from Oshkosh, Wisconsin. He told police he did not see the red light. He was given a ticket.
