( Rochester, MN )  Mayo Clinic says its new mobile app is now available from Apple’s App Store at no charge.    Mayo says its app integrates with Apple Health and will give users a clear and current overview of their health and fitness data. Mayo says the new app was created with the help of its patients and Apple.

Mayo says users can trust that their data is secure. They will have full control of their personal health information, and can decide what, if any, data is stored in the Apple Health app.

Among its features - users will be able to contact their health care team directly and manage details of their appointments. Mayo says future updates will include disease and condition management, and personalized feedback tailored for users.

health care technology development," says John T. Wald, M.D., medical director, Mayo Clinic Public Affairs. "Users of the new Mayo Clinic app will have easier access to health information, guidance and care when they need it most. Through the Apple Health app, users will be able to integrate information from other apps with their Mayo Clinic health information, creating actionable data to improve health and wellness."
