Minnesota 8th Grader Advances to Nat’l Geographic Bee Finals

Washington D.C. (KROC-AM News) - Minnesota’s representative in this year’s National Geographic Bee has advanced to the finals.
14-year-old Shreyas Varathan of Shakopee was among the 54 contestants at the start of the competition in Washington D.C. on Monday.
He and the nine other finalists will be competing for the championship on Wednesday. The top prize is a $50,000 college scholarship.
