Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - The Minnesota State Patrol is now reporting a man from Wells, Minnesota was fatally injured Saturday in a freak accident while driving a motorcycle in rural Houston County.

The State Patrol says 66-year-old John Huston was driving on Highway 76 near Caledonia when his shirt became caught in the rear brake. The brake suddenly locked up and Huston was thrown from the motorcycle. He was taken to a La Crosse hospital where he later died. The State Patrol says he was not wearing a helmet.

A Rochester man was hurt after he swerved his motorcycle to avoid hitting a deer and crashed. The State Patrol says 70-year-old Delmer Smith was driving on Highway 61 south of Kellogg when the accident happened around 3:30 AM Sunday. His injuries were described as non-life threatening. The State Patrol says Smith was not wearing a helmet.
