The sixth annual “ Give to the Max Day “ in Minnesota began at midnight and through the first nine hours, nearly 35,000 donations had been made totaling $6.2 million.

Organizers have their fingers crossed, hoping to avoid the major crash the online program suffered last year which led to a 5 hour shutdown.

Officials also hope to top last year's total of  just over $17 million from 52,000 donors.

Donations can be made by going to their website givemn.org.

Matching funds are also available.
