Minnesota Twins pitcher Phil Hughes probably lost out on a $500,000 bonus he would have gotten if he'd pitched 210 innings this season.  Thanks to a rain delay last night, he fell ONE OUT SHORT of that mark.

It was the final start of the season for Hughes, who has thrown 209 2/3 innings this season; his contract stipulates that he would receive the bonus if he reached 210 innings pitched.

Twins manager Ron Gardenhire told reporters after the game that he will not use Hughes out of the bullpen this weekend.

Don't feel bad for Phil though...his base salary is $8 million, and he already earned a pair of $250,000 bonuses this season for reaching 180 and 195 innings.

Still.....losing out on a half a mil! (ouch)
