Crystal, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Twin Cities man is facing second-degree murder charges for the death of his girlfriend’s young son.

A statement issued by the Crystal Police Department says 21-year-old Quran Jabari Mitchell was arrested following the death of the two-year-old child on Sunday. The criminal investigation began late Saturday night after Crystal Police responded to a report of a two-year-old boy not breathing and officers found with a toddler unconscious, bruised, and critically ill.

The statement says the child died the next day and an autopsy determined his death was caused by severe head injuries consistent with blunt force trauma.
