I have never been a fan of Nancy Grace, and this time, she's gone too far. I can't take it any more and have to speak out!

The video up there is of the Jim and Sam show. I wanted to be fair make sure you had the opportunity to judge for yourself if you think she's dong what I think she's doing, which is being a hypocrite or is being honest.

They're trying to get her to respond to a question, and she just doesn't want to deal with it honestly. I don't think it's possible to argue honestly, "Nancy Grade does not exploit people for profit." She may truly care about the stories. That doesn't mean she doesn't pick 'em to have the greatest ratings impact.

TV is ratings...so of course she's using the stories to keep her audience glued to her show...and that's exploitation.

My distaste goes deeper, tho, since I think she also proclaims innocence or guilt based on opinion. Never allowing she may not be correct. I think she encourages the "guilty until proved innocent" way of thinking, and that is not how our system is supposed to work. It is, however, a show, and acting like that brings in ratings.

Again, exploitation.

This was in a blog about the video...

Later, when asked how she justifies “latching on to all of these hashtags without saying you are capitalizing on dead kids,” Grace shot back.

“My program is to help solve unsolved homicides and find missing people, which we have done.  If you don’t like that and you don’t like the way I do it, don’t watch it,” she said.

It's true, they're free to skip the show, tho when you have a guest like this on the radio, you're supposed to act for your listeners. The questions they were asking are the kinds of questions I hear about her all the time.

As far as what her show is...her program is to make money, first and foremost. That is what media is. Bring in viewers, bring in dollars. Same with radio. Bring in listeners, bring in dollars. We're businesses, we can't survive, no one gets paid, if people don't watch/listen, and that's just the way it is. And always has been.

I don't understand why she can't be honest about it. It doesn't make her motives wrongheaded, she may really want to help people. But the deflection from a truth tells me those questions may have hit too close to home.

So I made a Snapchat about it (sandwiched by some fun stuff).
