Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A neighbor helped prevent a small fire from causing more damage to a southeast Rochester home Saturday.

Crews were called out around 1:45 PM to 1321 2nd St. SE and found the neighbor who called 911 using a fire extinguisher to contain the fire in an attached porch in the rear of the house.

The Rochester Fire Dept. says no one was home at the time.

The fire caused an estimated $10,000 damage. The cause of the fire was listed as accidental. An electric fryer was the source.
