Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - There were several filings Friday for seats in the Minnesota Legislature representing the Rochester area.

Democrat Rich Wright of Rochester filed for the Senate District 26 seat currently held by Republican Carla Nelson, Democrat Linda Wallbruch of Mantorville has filed for the District 25A House seat now held by Republican Duane Quam and Democrat John Austinson of Elgin has filed for the District 26B House seat currently held by Republican Nels Pierson.

There was also a filing for a seat on the Rochester City Council. Annalissa Johnson has signed up as a candidate for the 6th Ward position held by Sandra Means, who earlier announced she would not be seeking reelection this fall.

The filing period for the November elections open Tuesday, and will close on May 31st.
